Summary
At Vrennly, we help adults in the United States find new friends using machine learning. To do that responsibly, we collect some personal information — like your name, age, and quiz answers — to make good matches.
We respect your privacy and don't sell your information. We use your data only to improve matches, maintain the app, measure and improve our advertising, and keep the experience safe.
- What we collect: Name, email, age, gender, photos, personality quiz answers, chat logs, basic usage/diagnostic analytics, and device or advertising identifiers.
- Why: To create friend matches, personalize your experience, improve our service, and understand which ads led you to Vrennly.
- Who sees it: Vrennly's own systems and trusted service providers — including Google Maps (address suggestions), Google/Firebase (push notifications), Meta and TikTok (advertising measurement), and OpenAI (AI-generated game content).
- Your choices: You can delete your account anytime, and we'll delete your personal data when you do. You can also limit ad tracking through your device's privacy settings (see Section 6).
- We don't sell or rent your data. Ever.
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Vrennly collects, uses, and protects personal information from users ("you," "your") of our website and mobile application. By using Vrennly, you agree to this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account Information: name, email address, age, gender, and password.
- Profile Information: photos, personality quiz answers, interests, and other optional details you provide.
- Communications: chat logs, messages, and correspondence between users.
- Product Interaction Data: the matches, quizzes, games, posts, comments, likes, and other in-app features you use, so we can operate and improve the service.
- Usage and Diagnostic Data: device type, app version, app interactions, IP address, crash/error logs, and general analytics used to keep the app reliable and to understand feature adoption.
- Device and Advertising Identifiers: identifiers such as your device's advertising ID, used with our advertising partners (Section 6) to measure and improve our advertising and to attribute app installs to ad campaigns.
- Push Notification Data: a device token issued by Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google), used solely to deliver notifications to your device.
- Location Data: approximate or predicted address information using the Google Maps API (subject to Google's Privacy Policy).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- Operate, personalize, and improve the app.
- Provide friendship-matching and communication features.
- Send account notifications and support messages.
- Analyze usage and diagnostics to improve app reliability, our algorithms, and user experience.
- Measure and improve our advertising, including which campaigns and ads led to app installs and sign-ups.
- Ensure safety, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal data. We may share limited information with:
- Google Maps API — to provide address suggestions.
- Google / Firebase Cloud Messaging — to deliver push notifications to your device.
- Meta Platforms, Inc. — account-creation and sign-in events, and your advertising identifier (where available), so we can measure and improve Meta advertising campaigns. See Section 6.
- TikTok Pte. Ltd. (Android only) — app-install, launch, and account-creation events, along with your Android advertising ID, so we can measure and improve TikTok advertising campaigns. See Section 6.
- OpenAI, L.L.C. — the theme or prompt you select for our AI-generated "What the Blank" game content, so OpenAI's models can generate that content on our behalf.
- Other service providers who support our hosting, analytics, or email delivery.
- Law enforcement or authorities if required by law or to protect safety.
Each provider processes data only as needed to deliver their services.
5. Other Analytics and Similar Technologies
Our website and app may use cookies, SDKs, and similar technologies to remember your preferences and measure app performance. Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized whenever possible.
6. Advertising, Attribution & Your Tracking Choices
We work with Meta and, on Android, TikTok to understand which ads and campaigns bring people to Vrennly, and to measure and improve our advertising. These partners receive limited event data (such as when you install the app, sign up, or log in) together with a device or advertising identifier — not your name, messages, or profile content.
On iOS, Apple requires us to ask your permission before this kind of cross-app tracking can occur (the App Tracking Transparency prompt). If you decline, we won't use your iOS advertising identifier for this purpose, and Vrennly's core features work the same either way. On Android, you can reset or opt out of interest-based advertising for your advertising ID at any time in your device's Google Settings (Settings > Privacy > Ads).
7. Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide our services. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data from active systems within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law. This includes:
- Message content you sent may be replaced with a placeholder rather than physically removing the underlying message record, where necessary to preserve conversation history for other participants. No personal data remains attached to the message.
- A record that an account deletion occurred may be retained for up to 1 year for legal and security purposes. This record does not contain your personal data.
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures (encryption, secure hosting, limited access) to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.
9. Your Choices and Rights
You can:
- Access, edit, or delete your account information at any time.
- Request deletion of your personal data by contacting us.
- Opt out of non-essential communications.
- Control ad tracking and your advertising identifier through your device settings, as described in Section 6.

10. Children's Privacy
Vrennly is intended for U.S. adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If we learn that a child has provided personal data, we will delete it immediately.
11. Links to Other Services
Vrennly may link to third-party sites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The "Last Updated" date will indicate the most recent version. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised policy.
